Rocketman Flies as Boba Fett

Los Angeles, California
May 25-28, 2007

On May 25, 2007, exactly 30 years to the day of the first Star Wars showing, Rocketman turns the Boba Fett fantasy into a reality at Celebration IV in Los Angeles .

For years Star Wars fans have admired Boba Fett, the Bounty Hunter and his ability to fly with a Rocketbelt.

For the first time in Star Wars history, George Lucas's dream of a flying Boba Fett has come true with this weekends three performance flights at Celebration IV.

Flight one was a surprise entrance at the opening ceremonies. Rocketman, as Boba Fett, made a surgical flight. Flying threw the auditorium and over the stage to join the Stormtroopers for pictures.

The next morning, Darth Vader and his troops of the 501st. made their way outside and cleared an area in the crowd. The audience waited patiently for the ten o'clock convention center opening. At exactly ten o'clock a loud noise emerged from the distance and up over the trees came the Rocketman in full Boba Fett regalia right on time to begin the festivities.

Boba Fett landed and was greeted by Darth Vader before being escorted in by the 501st Stormtroopers into the building.

Because of the overwhelming response to the originally slated two flight weekend Gen Con decided to have another flight on Sunday for the fans.

On the third and final flight, the Rocketman was joined by another Legion of Stormtroopers. This time Luke Skywalker instead of Darth Vader was there to see him off.

As the Rocketman walked to the launch spot the fans chanted "Boba, Boba, Boba"

Boba Fett briefly squared off with Luke before taking off down the street. The Rocketman flew down between the fans then spun around screaming back to land at his original take off point.

Star Wars fans young and old were delighted to see one of the most legendary Star Wars figures made more real than ever through the combined efforts of Gen Con and the Rocketman.
